Amazon FBA New Selection Rules 2025
Since March 1, 2022, Amazon FBA New Selection program has continued to grow, and by 2024–2025 Amazon has further expanded its incentives. Sellers can now benefit from free monthly storage, free removals, and additional fee waivers designed to support launching new products through FBA.
Amazon has maintained the increased limit of up to 500 new-to-FBA parent ASINs, allowing sellers more room to test and introduce fresh items into their catalog each year.
New FBA sellers in 2024–2025 can still access a $100 shipping discount on their first Amazon Partnered Carrier shipment, making it cost-effective to send initial inventory to fulfillment centers.

How the Amazon FBA New Selection Program Works
To take advantage of the program’s features, sellers must enroll. Once registered, Amazon determines eligibility for fee waivers and benefits automatically. With the strong performance of this program, Amazon continues to refine and optimize it for 2024 and 2025, helping sellers reduce launch costs and scale faster.
Main Benefits of the Program
Up to 500 new-to-FBA parent ASINs covered:
Sellers enrolled in the New Selection Program can receive fee exemptions on as many as 500 newly created parent ASINs each year. This count resets annually on January 1.
90 days of free storage + free removals for 180 days:
The first 50 units of each new parent ASIN receive free monthly storage for 90 days after arrival at Amazon’s fulfillment center. Sellers can also remove the first 50 units within 180 days at no removal cost—particularly helpful if product performance is uncertain.
Free return processing for select product categories:
Amazon will cover return fee processing for up to 50 units per parent ASIN in five key categories:
- Watches
- Apparel
- Jewelry
- Luggage
- Shoes, Handbags & Accessories
Returned units must be received back at the fulfillment center within 120 days of the first inventory arrival date.
$100 Partnered Carrier shipping credit for new sellers:
New Professional sellers signing up for FBA in 2024–2025 remain eligible for a $100 shipping rebate on their first partnered-carrier shipment, even if the ASINs are not new to FBA.
This program remains available to sellers operating across major marketplaces including the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Japan.

Amazon FBA New Selection Program Updates
Following previous improvements, Amazon continues to offer enhanced benefits through 2024 and 2025.
Increased Rebates on New-to-FBA Parent ASIN Sales
Sellers launching new products can still receive higher rebates, which Amazon increased starting in 2023 and continues through 2024–2025:
- Oversized items: Up to 30 units per parent ASIN for 90 days
- Standard-size items: Up to 100 units per parent ASIN for 120 days
The rebate remains at an average of 10% for eligible sellers meeting program criteria.
Expanded Unit Eligibility for Standard-Size Items
Sellers can benefit from storage, liquidation support, and rebates for up to 100 units per standard-size parent ASIN. These improvements support product launches with less financial burden, especially for first-time sellers.
ASIN Eligibility Requirements
To qualify:
- Only small standard and large standard-size products are eligible.
- Parent ASINs must be truly new-to-FBA and not previously fulfilled within the last 180 days.
- Used products and items in Media categories remain ineligible (Books, DVDs, Video Games, etc.).
- Free return processing applies only to fashion-related categories listed above.
Seller Eligibility Requirements
To join and stay eligible, sellers must meet these conditions:
- You must operate a Professional Seller account.
- Your Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score must be 400 or above.
- Eligibility is checked before sending products to Amazon for FBA.
- New Professional sellers without an IPI score are temporarily considered eligible.
- Once confirmed as eligible, sellers remain in the program until the next April 1 review cycle.
- Sellers whose IPI drops below 400 by the April 1 reassessment may be removed.
Final Thoughts
Amazon FBA New Selection Program continues to be a powerful advantage for sellers introducing new products. With ongoing improvements through 2024 and 2025—such as higher rebates, expanded unit eligibility, and fee waivers—this program significantly reduces upfront risks. If you maintain the eligibility criteria, these benefits can help you launch, test, and scale new products more affordably and confidently.
